Faculty Spotlight: Bridgette Boudreaux

Today, we are shining our spotlight on Bridgette Boudreaux, a Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering teacher in the high school! Mrs. Boudreaux has been at CAK for two years.

Why did you choose to teach at CAK?
As a family, we have always preferred Christian education, and when the opportunity came to have all three of my kids at the same school, we decided to take it. I also was excited to be teaching again with my friends Mrs. Hurley and Mr. Carter.
Tell us about your family.
I have three kiddos who all attend CAK. One is at the high school, and two are in middle school. My husband is a scientist at ORNL and a lay elder at our church. We love our church family and spend a lot of time with them. All the boys in my family love to go mountain biking, and we love to hike, camp, and play games together.
What do you enjoy most about teaching at CAK?
The faculty and staff that work here are amazing. We support each other through prayer and encouragement in the hallways. I also love the students. High school is such a special time in their lives. It is neat that I get to be a small part of it.
Why did you choose your specific area of study?
Creation has always been evidence to me that there is an all-powerful creator. I love to think about how He literally is still holding atoms together, and without him, we would all cease to exist. I love how science seeks to model creation and study how it works. God is mighty to save, and through the wonder of creation, I hope to show students who the true God is.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to knit and read books. I only really read fiction during school breaks, but I also love nonfiction books on doctrine, church history, etc. I'm currently reading a biography about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and I just finished one about the history of Home Economics.
