At CAK Preschool, your child’s first school experience is intentionally designed to feel safe, joyful, and full of discovery. This is a season where wonder is natural, curiosity is constant, and the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning begins.

Because CAK is a covenant Christian school, this stage is rooted in partnership. Families share a common foundation of faith, and that shared commitment shapes the way we care for and teach each child. What your child is learning at school reinforces what is being taught at home and church, creating consistency, security, and trust at an early age.

Our Program

  • Pre-K (5 day program)

    Students must be 4 years old by August 15. Students meet five days a week.

    Pre-K focuses on a pre-writing curriculum, including letter formation (Zaner-Bloser), developing a strong sense of numbers using interactive learning and manipulatives, and building social-emotional intelligence and strong cooperation skills. Pre-K also develops early literacy skills such as phonemic awareness through pre-reading activities.

  • Junior K (5 day program)

    Students must be 4 years old by March 31. Junior K serves as a year-long half step between Pre-K and Kindergarten and is offered 5 days a week (Monday - Friday). This program allows children to gain an extra year of growth before entering Kindergarten.

    Junior K follows a similar schedule and format to a regular kindergarten day. Creativity and curiosity are embedded in structured classroom activities. We use the OWL curriculum, which introduces students to core standards in literacy, math, science, and social studies. Structured learning through play, projects, and nature is the foundation of this class.

Spiritual Life

Even our youngest Warriors begin building a strong foundation of faith as we intentionally seek to make disciples who know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. Through engaging Bible lessons, weekly chapel, and Scripture memory for our beloved Psalms Chapel, students discover God's truth in age-appropriate and meaningful ways.

These early experiences help children hide God's Word in their hearts, grow in their understanding of His love, and learn what it means to live out their faith each day. From the very beginning, we partner with families to nurture a Christ-centered foundation that prepares students for a lifelong journey of following Him.

  • What should my preschooler wear?

    Our preschool students wear uniforms, just like the rest of our campus community.

    Uniforms can be purchased from Lands’ End, Tommy Hilfiger, or My APlus Uniforms, and our online spirit store offers additional spiritwear and school-branded items.

  • What is the school day schedule?

    Our Preschool follows our normal school calendar from August to May. View Calendar.

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, the school day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm (First dismissal) and 3:00 pm (Second dismissal). Drop-off begins at or after 7:15 am.

    For Warrior Wednesdays, the school day begins at 9:00 am with drop-off beginning at 7:30 am.

    Aftercare is available until 5:45 pm and is an additional $20 per day per student cost.

  • What about lunch?

    Through our partnership with SAGE Dining Services, students have access to nutritious and delicious meal options prepared with care each day.

    SAGE also offers Free Style®, a dedicated station serving meals made without the top 12 allergens, helping students with dietary needs enjoy safe, satisfying options with confidence.

  • How is technology used in the classroom?

    As a 1:1 technology school, CAK equips students with the tools they need to thrive in a digital world. At the same time, we are screen-sensitive, especially with our youngest Warriors. Technology is used in a limited and age-appropriate way in our lower grades, supporting hands-on learning and healthy development. Our goal is to integrate technology where it enhances education, never where it distracts from it.

  • What Enrichment opportunitites will my preschooler receive?

    Weekly enrichment opportunities, including Spanish, Music, Art, and physical education, expand their experiences and support well-rounded growth. In-school field trips, such as visits from Zoo Knoxville, bring the world to life in exciting and age-appropriate ways.

  • What is included with the preschool tuition?

    Lunch by SAGE Dining, yearbooks, full-day preschool program, class t-shirts, most school supplies, In-school field trips, iPads and classroom technology, student admissions to non-playoff athletic home games.

  • How is my preschooler placed in a class?

    Student placement is thoughtfully determined using the Gesell Developmental Observation, helping us meet each child right where they are developmentally.
