CAK alumna, Jenny Highsmith ('06), is an artist who opened her own print shop in 2013. Then in March of 2020, she became a published author. Her book, "Hand Lettering God's Word," began with "a desire to remind myself of God’s truth" and turned into "a passion and, eventually, due to high demand, a business." We sat down with Highsmith to ask her how CAK influenced the person she is today.
"When I look back at my time at CAK, there are many things that come to mind that prepared me for life after high school. Besides the high level of excellence in the education I received, I think one of the most impactful things was the confidence that was instilled in me especially from my teachers. Not only did I receive an education that prepared me for my college classes, but I believed I could achieve whatever I put my mind to if I worked diligently and honored the Lord in everything."

A Bible verse that she looks to often is: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (Col. 3:23)
And Highsmith does just that. "The process of creating something beautiful by hand takes time and dedication. And, for me, it has always been something I have used to worship God and experience His presence."
Highsmith has a degree in visual communication and lives in Atlanta with her husband and their three children.
