Why do you choose to teach at CAK? I always thought I would teach elementary in a public school, but I had a short placement in the middle school at CAK and absolutely fell in love. I knew there was no other place I wanted to be.
Tell us about your family. I have been married to my husband Jacob for 7 years. We have two boys, Joe (6) and Ben (4). We also own a restaurant called The Chef’s Table.
What do you enjoy most about teaching at CAK? I love teaching the Gospel of John to a new set of 7th-grade students each year. The brains of 13-year-olds are just starting to grasp really big and deeper concepts. They ask the best questions!
Why did you choose your specific area of study? As a graduate of Johnson Bible College, I had a double major in Education (K-8) and Bible. Also, I grew up in a preacher’s family, and Bible teaching was always a part of the culture of my home. It feels like such a natural fit for me. I couldn’t ask for a better teaching job!
What do you like to do in your free time? I like reading, watching movies, going to the mountains, camping.
