Why do you choose to teach at CAK? I love to integrate who I am as a Christ-follower into my connections with students, my lessons, and everything I do. Teaching Spanish is a passion of mine, but students connecting with Jesus is what matters most in this world! I love to be able to do both!
Tell us about your family. My husband is the lead pastor at Waters Edge Church, and we moved to Knoxville 6 years ago. We have three, awesome kids (David-18, Hannah-16, Sarah-14) and a dog named Bailey. David is a freshman at UT Chattanooga studying Political Science, Hannah is a junior at CAK and Sarah is a freshman at CAK.
What do you enjoy most about teaching at CAK? The students!! They are absolutely the best. I love the small, family environment that allows me to get to connect with students so well and build relationships. Why did you choose your specific area of study? Spanish has always come easily to me. Being able to communicate in Spanish opens me up to a world of new people and experiences. I love having the ability to speak with Spanish speakers who do not know English, as well as to be a bridge between those who want to know it.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like to cook when I have time. I love watching my kids play sports, and Starbucks is a favorite place to sip a mocha and connect with God.
