Water Walk for Life - A Way to Serve Others

Servants, Scholars, Disciples. Those three words encompass the very heart of Christian Academy of Knoxville, and each of our grade levels lives them out with service projects throughout the year. One tradition that our elementary students look forward to is the annual Water Walk, an activity and service project for the elementary organized by CAK's 6th-grade class.

The H2O For Life Water Walk partners CAK with Nasaruni Academy, a school in rural Kenya, to provide access to clean and safe water. 6th graders learn about the global water crisis, complete STEM projects that aid in bringing clean water, and facilitate the Water Walk event itself.
This year's Water Walk took place on May 5 when CAK elementary students rotated through 5 stations set up at the CAK track: Art, Math, Science, Walk, and Games. They received a "stamp" in their "passports" for each station! At the end of the event, they show their completed passports for a "Water Warrior" bracelet!

The 6th graders raised funds through online donations and t-shirt shirt sales. Kids who donated got their names put on a water droplet which was displayed in the lobby.
