Students in fourth-grade focus on "Choosing Kind" (from the book Wonder). Fostering a classroom community that is both positive and encouraging is crucial at this stage of development. Students recognize that everyone is uniquely created by God and that they are all gifted by Him in amazing ways.
In Bible, students are taught God’s story of truth, His love for us, and the importance of coming into a saving faith in Christ. Students are taught the spiritual disciplines that are essential to personal faith and a Biblical worldview.
In addition to our core curriculum, fourth graders participate in an added world language course, keyboarding, multimedia projects, and multiple novel studies.
The fourth-grade mission focus is a Mozambican school called Hlauleka. Students host a pencil sale and use proceeds to purchase school supplies for these students. There is also an emphasis on community leaders. Students pray for them and seek ways to encourage them in their community leadership. Exploring their own roles in the community, students participate in Junior Achievement’s BizTown program.
