Faculty Spotlight- Sarah Coleman

It's Teacher Tuesday, and today we’re heading to fifth grade to spotlight Mrs. Sarah Coleman, who has spent the last eight years helping CAK students dig into God’s Word and grow in their faith!

Before coming to CAK, Mrs. Coleman taught in public school and spent 10 years in church ministry. CAK became the perfect blend of those two worlds: education and ministry.

Teaching children how to read and study God’s Word has always been a passion of hers. She loves that fifth graders come to her at different stages in their faith journeys and considers it a privilege to help them explore Scripture.

“I love finding creative ways to make the Bible come alive while also helping students navigate harder biblical truths with an open hand,” says Sarah.

That creativity is also one of the things she loves most about CAK. Teachers are encouraged to teach from their giftedness rather than a script, giving Mrs. Coleman the freedom to be creative with her Bible lessons. She also treasures the relationships she has built with her co-workers, saying CAK Elementary feels more like a family than a school.

Mrs. Coleman and her husband, Richard, have been married for nearly 25 years and have three sons. Two are CAK students in eighth and 12th grade, while their oldest is a CAK alum and is now a freshman at Bryan College.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Coleman loves to create, whether crafting or writing curriculum. She also enjoys family dinners and occasionally convinces her boys to join her favorite activity: a dance party!

We are so thankful for the creativity, joy, and love for God’s Word that Mrs. Coleman brings to CAK!
