Meet Our New Nurses

This year, CAK welcomed a new Medical Coordinator, Jessica Olson, and a new Elementary school nurse, Christina Ownby. We are excited to have them on campus and the benefit of their expertise! Read more about each of these ladies by clicking "Meet Our New Nurses."
Christina Ownby:
I am Christina Ownby, your new Elementary School Nurse. I graduated from King University in 2016 and have worked in the ICU most of my nursing career. I am originally from Bristol, TN. We moved to Knoxville in 2019 after my husband, Kyle, finished his service in the Marine Corps.  When we had our son, Luke, in  October of 2022 and I originally planned on being a stay-at-home mom with him until he was at least a year old. I at the time anticipated returning to my job in the ICU once I was ready to return to work. However, God had other plans for me. He put it in my heart to search for school nurse positions and I came across CAK and trusted that if it was meant to be God would find a way. So here I am! I am so excited to meet the kids and build their trust, as well as their parents' trust. I look forward to attending school events and building relationships with everyone.

Jessica Olson:
I have always been a nurturer by nature. I became a Registered Nurse in Fort Wayne, IN a little over 14 years ago. Most of my nursing experience has been in adult intensive care. However, I have had experience in neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and inpatient/outpatient pediatric nursing. I love what I do! I am able to humbly feel for and show tender-hearted compassion toward others. There is absolutely nothing better than the fantastic sensation that comes with knowing you are able to comfort a complete stranger in their time of need. I am ecstatic to be joining a Christ-centered community as CAK's new medical coordinator where I can continue to use my passion in caring for others.

I have been married for 15 years to Brandon Olson, my middle school sweetheart. Together we have three boys Ayce (12), Eli (11), and Isaac (10), and two golden retrievers Ollie (2), and Uma (1). In my spare time, I love to be in the presence of my family. Whether it's watching my boys play soccer, helping my husband with projects, or having game nights - I simply enjoy being in their presence. If I'm not hanging out with my family then you would most likely find me in the gym or mentoring women on fitness and nutrition.
