Dr. Susan Wallis Named CAK Assistant Head of School
For Immediate Release
Knoxville, TN - Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) announces Dr. Susan Wallis as the new Assistant Head of School. For the past two years, Wallis has served as CAK’s high school principal, and she will continue to act in dual roles as she steps into her new position.
“When considering who should serve in the role of Assistant Head of School at CAK, the obvious choice was Dr. Susan Wallis,” says CAK Head of School Rich Fulford. “Wallis is a very knowledgeable and experienced school administrator.”
In fact, that experience is extensive. At the beginning of her career, Wallis spent ten years teaching special education. She spent the next 21 years in Christian education as an elementary teacher and a high school math teacher including 7 years in administration at Berean Christian School in Knoxville.
“I feel that my gifts in organizational development and administration are a great compliment to CAK’s senior leadership team,” says Wallis. “I’m looking forward to serving the CAK community and continuing to strive for excellence in all we do for His glory.”
Fulford agrees saying “her expertise in all aspects of school accreditation is a gift to our team. The poise she demonstrates in challenging situations, and the gift of wisdom she has through prayer and Bible study will serve the students and families of CAK well as we continue to move forward.”
Wallis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, a Master of Science in Education, and a PhD in Leadership Studies, all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She and her husband, Brian, attend Fellowship Church. Her family includes five children with a grandchild on the way. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family, with Jesus (especially outside), and to cook, read, and do crafts.
“CAK has such a sweet family feel,” says Wallis. “ I’m honored and humbled to be part of this body of believers.”
