Summer Programs

CAK offers a variety of academic and athletic camps.

2015 Academic camps

Cooking Camp
June 1-4

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.                                              
Location: CAK HS Kitchen
Ages: Rising K-5th grade
Registration fee: $125

Description: Learn to be a junior chef with Mrs Eichholtz and Chef Andrika. We will teach fun hands-on recipes, cooking etiquette and how to entertain your guests. Each day we’ll prepare cultural themed meals and take home dishes. Snacks and lunches will be cooked by your junior chef during cooking camp. At the end of the week, each junior chef will be given a cookbook of all the camp recipes and kitchen essentials. Please have your child wear their favorite apron to camp each day. Chem Camp
June 1-5

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: CAK HS Rm 518
Ages: Rising 3rd – 5th Graders
Registration Fee: $115

Description: Includes snack and drink each day. Students will explore topics in chemistry through experiments involving light, fire, electricity, batteries, dry ice, gases, slime, kitchen chemistry, constructing and activating a volcano and more.

Books & More, Fun Galore!
June 8-11

Time: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: Elementary School Room 309
Ages: Rising 2nd and 3rd Graders
Registration fee: $125

Description: This fun reading camp will include a different author book study each day with hands-on activities and reading comprehension. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle, snacks will be provided.

Art Camp
June 8-11

Time: 9-12 p.m.
Location: CAK Elementary Art Room
Ages: Rising K - 4th Graders
Registration fee: $140
Deposit: $50 by April 10th to save your spot - space is limited!

Filmmaking Camp
June 22-25

Time: 9am - 12pm
Location: CAK Middle School Library
Age: Rising 4th & 5th grade
Registration fee: $100

Description: Campers will learn the basics of filmmaking while using professional level cameras and equipment. To expose campers to different types of filmmaking, each day will consist of creating and editing a short film. The hope is to give campers the ability to create, with confidence and ability, their own films.

Photo Camp
June 22-25

Time: 1pm - 4pm
Location: CAK Middle School Library
Ages: Rising 7th - 9th grade
Registration Fee: $100

Description: During the four days campers will learn to take their cameras off automatic and start shooting manually. They will also learn to better compose and edit their photos. Campers are expected to provide their own DSLR cameras

iPhoneography Camp – MS
June 29

Time: 9am - 1pm
Location: This camp will take place in downtown Knoxville. Parents will drop their students off and pick them up at a designated location (TBD).
Ages: Open to all middle school students
Registration fee: $30

Description: The one day camp will last for three hours and end with campers eating a meal out together (not included in cost of camp). Campers will learn how to better utilize the cameras on their smart phones by taking better pictures and editing them appropriately. A smart phone and the apps VSCO Cam  and Camera+ are required.

Southern Little Lady HomeEc Camp
July 13-16

Time: 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: CAK HS Commons
Ages: Rising 3rd – 6th Graders
Registration Fee: $130
Description: Join us for getting back to the basics...Come to learn home skills for the southern lady.  You will learn basic cooking/entertaining, introduction to sewing and gift making. Daily homemade snacks will be provided.
