CAK Food Council
In order to facilitate communication between our CAK families and our food vendor SAGE, CAK has established a food council.
This council is composed of a group of parent volunteers who will address parent concerns and communicate them to our food services director. There have already been two meetings between the council and SAGE resulting in changes and improvements being implemented in all three schools! Issues addressed include: • Overall quality, including flavor and food temp • Portion Sizes • Adding more kid friendly vegetables in the lower grades and dropping some unpopular choices • Adding more fruit choices and low fat yogurt daily • Better labeling of salad dressings to reflect low fat/low calorie options
Look for other improvements in the near future. These include two "features" per week with items such as a fruit tasting bar , a taco bar and Field Day Cookouts!

CAK and SAGE Dining Services are pleased to present an exciting new dining program.
The talented chefs from SAGE make meals at Christian Academy a daily culinary adventure. Our community is treated to real food, cooked from scratch. SAGE’s seasonal menus are custom designed for us, reflecting diners' preferences as well as the fresh products available in the market. Vegetarian entrees and several composed salads are offered at every lunch.

The SAGE Spotlight Program® uses color-coded signs and menus to teach students about the nutritional value of food and to guide them through the process of choosing a complete and balanced meal.
Our registered dietitians review and approve each menu to ensure that each meal meets SAGE's high standards. To reflect this, a spotlight dot color is assigned to each menu item, providing a road map to building a healthy meal.

Vegetarian entrees are also available at all meals. In addition to the meals outlined above, salad bars, deli bars, fruit, soup and homemade bread are available
