2012 Spiritual Emphasis Week:
Elementary School: "Live out Loud"
There was a lot of laughter in the Warrior Gym during Elementary School Spiritual Emphasis Week!
With a theme like “Live out Loud” and a guest speaker like Ryan Bomgardner, a Christian ventriloquist, it was no wonder why.
“The highlight of the week for me was to see the excitement in so many of the students who expressed a desire to live boldly for Christ,” said Elementary School Principal David McFalls. “The highlight of the week for the students, I would say, was to experience the incredible gifts and talents that Ryan shared with them. Ryan did a very nice job including many of the students in his daily sessions, and in doing so, made a very personal connection with many of our students.”
It was the first Spiritual Emphasis Week for the Elementary School, a concept that McFalls pitched from his experiences at his previous school.
“I was excited to bring the concept to CAK,” McFalls said. “Elementary is the foundation for building a solid Biblical worldview in our students. Spiritual emphasis week can be a critical component in this process.”
Ryan travels all over the world with his cast of characters - Ardy, the skunk; Harold & Irene, some old friends; and Jeffrey, the eight-year-old self-proclaimed star of the show. He receives more than 500 performance invitations and accepts 130 of them annually.
“I was so excited when the Lord worked out the details for him to be able to come to our school,” McFalls said. “The students, staff, and parents loved Ryan and very much appreciated his gifts and talents.”
Day 1-"Love God Passionately"
Day 2-Love Others Unselfishly"
Day 3-"Enjoy Living Voraciously, with Jesus and Not Instead"
"It was an amazing week and God is still changing lives," said Anne Park. "We were blessed that the 8th graders would come in daily to pray over the chairs that each student would be sitting in. There was a group of high schoolers who came everday to pray for our students. The whole week was such a blessing!"
Kelly Braswell was the guest speaker and Chad Eidemiller (First Baptist Concord) brought a worship band.
