Christian Academy of Knoxville's Middle School serves as a bridge for students in grades six through eight
between elementary and high school. Twenty-five full and part-time teachers are responsible for the middle
school student's academic and spiritual program. The middle school facilities include life and physical
science lab, library, gym, and classrooms.
Academic courses include Bible, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math and Science. State education guidelines
are followed with Biblical principles integrated throughout the curriculum. In addition, students rotate through
computer, foreign language, physical education, music, band, art, and health classes. Students choose from a
variety of courses offered two days a week during Activity Period.
Middle school students participate in Scripps Howard Spelling Bee, National Geographic Geography Bee, area
Math competitions and ACSI writing competition. Seventh grade students who meet academic eligibility
according to the Stanford Achievement Test can participate in the Duke University TIP (Talent Identification
Program).
CAK Middle School is a member of Knoxville Independent School League (K.I.S.L.), and students in grades six
through eight compete in basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, swimming (eighth only)
volleyball, and baseball.
The Middle school teachers are experienced and aware of the challenges of facing our teens today. The staff
works diligently to guide and support these young people with a Christ-centered perspective during the
challenging adolescent years.
