Class News

Hi, Parents!  This will be the final web update for the year- how can that be?!  This will be the end of my first, and probably only, Kindergarten year!  Next year, I am back to Pre-1st only.  What a joy it has been to add these littles to my classroom.  They have all become such good, loyal friends; and I have truly loved every minute of every day with them. Thank you for being such a supportive group of parents!  I appreciate each one of you so!

Field Day was a big success, with pleasant temperatures and lots of fun!  Thank you for our volunteer parents who helped run some of the activities!  We couldn't do without you!

This week we will finish our ABC countdown as we Zoom out the door on Friday with 1st grade in our sights!

Please help your child complete the letter for next year's teacher, if you haven't already, and send it in to me by Monday.

Remember that Wednesday will not be a late start day- class will start at 8:00!

We will celebrate our summer birthday friends this week:  Ryan on Monday and Leslee on Wednesday.  It's such fun to sing and celebrate together!

8th Graders will be hosting a chapel on Thursday afternoon, followed by some fun games and skits in our rooms that afternoon.  What a sweet project for them all.

We will have our end of the year party Friday morning from 8:45-10:00.  We will go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt, draw our friends with chalk, and have some water games!  Please have your girls wear a one-piece swim suit under our class T-shirt and play shorts.  Boys can wear the class T-shirt and swim trunks! You might want to send in a beach towel, too!  We will be back in the room at 10 for cookie cake, drinks, and hugs good-bye.  I will have a sign out sheet in the room for anyone who wants to leave before our regular 1/2 day dismissal.

We will spend time each day rereading our favorite Bible stories, singing our favorite songs, and reading over the collection of Bible verse we have for this year.  No new memory verse this week.

Reading/Language Arts

We will work through one more spelling unit on plurals, but there will be no spelling test.  We will complete our May writing journals, have fun with some Reading Relays, add to our Sight Word booklets and read, read, read!  The students will take a final STAR reading assessment on Wednesday morning.

Story problems and number bonds will be our focus this week.  We will continue with subtraction facts with Minute Math, and will count down the days of school with our calendar activities!

No science unit.

Social Studies

No social studies unit this week.
