Hope you enjoy the beautiful pictures of your child that went home today.  They are due back Friday,9/27.

What a fun (& very messy!)week making paper mache globes and painting.  We will begin labeling continents next week.

Students loved being with middle and higher schoolers this afternoon for our CAK school-wide pep rally.

Reading/Language Arts


Story:  The Strong One!      Genre:  Play

Skill:  Realism and Fantasy

Language:  imperative sentences (command sentence telling someone to do something) and exclamatory sentences (sentence showing surprise or strong feeling)

Writing:  continue writing personal narratives

High Frequency Words (ALL students will be tested on):  together, often, very, though, learn, pieces, gone

Spelling List 1:  bunch, wish, when, math, shape, itch, that, patch, what, them, whale, chase

Spelling List 2:  switch, shrimp, whiskers, whisk, shudder, beneath, together, chute, stretch, furnish, through, approach





Chapter :  Addition and Subtraction with three digit numbers. We will be regrouping and borrowing so please practice at home. Also, please keep up the Reflex practice at home (in the car, at the field/court etc.)


Science/Social Studies

 Science: Earth- Students will identify rocks, soil, and water as the basic materials that make up Earth. They will also learn about some ways that Earth changes. 

Social Studies:  Place continents on the globe.  Understand the difference between political and physical maps.
