for the 2007-2008 school year. All classrooms include ceiling-mounted
LCD projectors with overhead sound for classroom instruction and
presentation.

and intermediate Microsoft Office. Math teachers also utilize the Accelerated
Math program and have specific math programs available in the classroom.
High School
CAK’s high school includes two computer labs with 25 computers per lab, both of which were updated for
the 2009-2010 school year. In addition, a Digital Photography Lab with 10 Dell computers was opened in
the 2008-2009 school year. All classrooms have mounted LCD projectors with overhead sound for
classroom instruction and student presentation.
Technology courses available at the high school level include Keyboarding, advanced Microsoft Office,
Web Design and Digital Photography.
The high school also provides online access to our grading system for parents and students to view

Christian Academy of Knoxville believes technology should be
an integral part of instruction, and as such strives to maintain a
modern technological campus. Students at all levels have
access to a wide array of technological resources across
campus.
Across the campus as a whole, all computers are on the
Warrior Network and students all have individual logins for the
network. Our network boasts a high-speed 1-gigabit
connection across campus and offers dedicated, filtered
internet services to all campus computers. Printers are
available in all computer labs and libraries and a color printer
is available on each campus. Students receive a $20 printing
credit per semester which should cover most class needs
when used appropriately.
In addition to computers, several classrooms on campus are
equipped with state-of-the-art Promethean boards, turning an
old-fashioned chalkboard or white board into a thing of the
past. This interactive surface allows teachers to incorporate
computer-based games and animation into their lesson plans.
Elementary School
The elementary school boasts an instructional lab, which was
updated for the 2009-2010 school year, and two mini-labs for
class use. All classrooms have two computers and an LCD
projector for instructional use. Most elementary classrooms
also include a voice amplification system designed to ensure
students are able to hear teachers without difficulty.
Technology instruction at the elementary level includes basic
computer concepts and keyboarding, introduction to Microsoft
Office and basic graphic design using KidPix. The elementary
school also is involved in the Accelerated Reader and
Accelerated Math online programs.
